About John's Practice

John S. Gannon is a partner with Skoler, Abbott & Presser, P.C., and practices in the firm’s Springfield, Massachusetts, office. He joined the firm in 2011. John defends employers against discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and related claims. In addition, he conducts comprehensive workforce wage and hour audits and reviews workplace policies for compliance with state and federal employment laws. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a judicial clerk to The Honorable David M. Borden and George D. Stoughton at the Connecticut Appellate Court. He is a graduate of Boston College, and received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Western New England Law School in 2009, where he was the Note Editor and a staff member of the Western New England Law Review. He was also a CALI award recipient for Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Family Law, Child, Family and State and Conflict of Laws; as well as a recipient of the John M. P. O’Malley Scholarship. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Vanessa L. Bryant at the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. Prior to attending law school, John had a career in marketing and advertising.

John is a regular contributor to business publications and to the Massachusetts Employment Law Letter. He also is a frequent speaker on employment-related legal topics for a wide variety of associations and organizations.
