Kara Shea Named Labor and Employment Department Vice Chair

Nashville, TN (March 30, 2010) - Miller & Martin, the Tennessee law firm of the Employers Counsel Network, has named attorney Kara Shea vice chair of its labor and employment department, which comprises more than 40 attorneys at the firm's three offices, including Nashville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, Shea works with national, regional and local companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses. She also represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and in various types of litigation.

Shea is the co-author of Wage and Hour Compliance: Practical Solutions for HR, a comprehensive guide to wage and hour compliance. She also is the co-editor of Tennessee Employment Law Letter and writes the monthly "Kara's Corner" column on timely and pertinent employment law issues facing Tennessee companies. She has been a presenter at numerous live classes and employment law audio conferences for HR professionals produced by M. Lee Smith Publishers. She has appeared in several national virtual events focusing on FMLA and Wage and Hour issues, and she has been a regular presenter at the publisher's annual Advanced Employment Issues Symposium.
