About Lisa's Practice

Lisa Edison-Smith practices exclusively in the areas of employment and labor law and litigation. She focuses her practice on providing practical advice to North Dakota and Minnesota employers on a variety of issues related to human resources, discrimination and harassment, employment compliance issues (such as wage and hour, FMLA, and WARN Act), employment contracts, policy review, hiring and termination, and employee benefits. She frequently provides training on harassment and other current issues in employment law to employers throughout the area. Lisa is a MSBA Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialist. She also is available for mediations in employment-related matters and is a "qualified neutral" in the states of North Dakota and Minnesota. Lisa also represents employers in labor matters before the NLRB.

Lisa has been recognized by Best Lawyers as a leading employment law attorney.

Prior to joining the firm, Lisa served as a law clerk to former Chief Justice A.M. Keith of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Before attending law school, Lisa worked for GTE Corporation in a variety of financial positions for nine years.
