About Jillian's Practice

Jillian Orticelli’s practice focuses on employment litigation, investigations and preventive counseling.

Ms. Orticelli represents public and private clients in state and federal courts and administrative agency proceedings. Her experience includes defense of lawsuits based on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, Title IX, and wage and hour claims including Equal Pay Act and FLSA collective action claims. She also handles restrictive covenant and trade secret misappropriation litigation and appellate matters.

Ms. Orticelli represents colleges, universities, and primary and secondary schools advising on matters of student discipline, policies, board governance, disability accommodation, and federal and state regulatory issues including the Department of Labor’s Dear Colleague Letters, the Clery Act, Campus SaVE Act, Title IX and VAWA. She is involved in investigations of sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other alleged wrongdoing.

She assists employers in preparing employee handbooks, workplace policies, and employment agreements and advises on compliance issues and employment terminations, including reductions in force. Ms. Orticelli also conducts employee training seminars and investigations, including diversity, anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training.
