Lisa Edison-Smith (Full bio) practices exclusively in the areas of employment and labor law and litigation. She focuses her practice on providing practical advice to North Dakota and Minnesota employers on a variety of issues related to human resources, discrimination and harassment, employment compliance issues (such as wage and hour, FMLA, and WARN Act), employment contracts, policy review, hiring and termination, and employee benefits. She frequently provides training on harassment and other current issues in employment law to employers throughout the area. Lisa also represents employers in labor matters before the NLRB.

Prior to joining the firm, Lisa served as a law clerk to former Chief Justice A.M. Keith of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Before attending law school, Lisa worked for GTE Corporation in a variety of financial positions for nine years.

Leslie Bakken Oliver (Full bio) is a shareholder with the Vogel Law Firm, practicing in the firm's Bismarck, North Dakota office. She defends employers in employment related litigation and advises employers on a variety of human resource and employment law topics, such as complying with the ADA and FMLA, drafting and enforcing trade secret and confidentiality agreements, drafting employee handbooks and policies, conducting internal investigations, compliance with wage and hour laws, implementing drug testing programs, developing internal dispute resolution systems, and reducing the risks of litigation. She has represented a wide variety of employers in the litigation and mediation of employment disputes, particularly disputes involving claims of discrimination and sexual harassment. She also has extensive experience in training both managers and non-managers, on compliance with state and federal laws.

Leslie graduated with Distinction from the University of North Dakota Law School. During this time, she served as a senior editor on the North Dakota Law Review, Director of the Law School Clinical Program, and Burtness research scholar. Prior to joining the firm, Leslie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Herbert Meschke, Justice of the North Dakota Supreme Court.
